Entry-level Immigration Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and dedicated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic team in Las Vegas, NV. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a new attorney or one with limited experience in immigration law to develop their skills and grow within a well-established firm. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse caseload, representing both detained and non-detained clients in immigration matters, and will work closely with a collaborative team of attorneys and legal professionals.

Duties:

• Offer clear explanations of immigration law to clients and recommend effective legal solutions.
• Represent clients in removal proceedings, including cases before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
• Manage an assigned caseload, ensuring all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals and provide legal counsel.
• Prepare and file immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review and adjust immigration applications and legal documents to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Work with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and community organizations on updates and changes in immigration law.
• Meet with potential clients to evaluate their needs and develop tailored legal strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and interviews before USCIS and immigration courts.
• Draft legal briefs and other necessary filings for a wide range of immigration cases.
• Provide legal analysis to assess potential benefits and outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience in immigration law.
• Strong team-oriented attitude with a willingness to collaborate and strategize with colleagues.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward effectively.
• Familiarity with family-based immigration petitions, humanitarian relief, EOIR cases, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS processes.
• Experience with case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active bar admission (or pending for recent law school graduates).

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate complex immigration issues clearly and effectively to clients.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Capable of working independently and managing multiple cases simultaneously.
• Knowledge of immigration law, particularly family-based petitions and removal defense.
