A law firm seeks an accomplished Associate Attorney specializing in commercial and complex litigation, particularly in the defense of wage and hour disputes. This role requires a proactive and knowledgeable attorney ready to contribute to a dynamic team while managing significant responsibilities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Duties

  • Defend clients in wage and hour litigation, with a focus on class action cases.
  • Apply knowledge of California and federal wage and hour regulations, including overtime, meal, and rest periods.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct depositions and handle motions related to discovery issues.
  • Develop comprehensive discovery plans and ensure their effective execution.
  • Draft legal documents, including opposition motions for class certification in wage and hour cases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, demonstrating professionalism and expertise in legal and strategic matters.
  • Maintain excellent follow-through on case developments and client interactions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of experience in wage and hour litigation, particularly in defense roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant California and federal laws governing wage and hour issues.
  • Proven experience with discovery processes and litigation management.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in California and in good standing.
