A law firm in Miami, FL is seeking a proactive Immigration Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will work under the Sr. Associate Attorney, manage a diverse caseload, and engage in meaningful client interactions. This role involves representing clients in various immigration matters, preparing applications, and collaborating with a dedicated team of immigration professionals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Sr. Associate Attorney and manage a personal caseload, including client interactions.
  • Collaborate effectively with the Immigration Team, including attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Explain complex immigration concepts to clients and present strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Visit and conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and file a variety of immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Review and make necessary adjustments to immigration applications/packets to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on updates and changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine effective case strategies.
  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to assess possible benefits and outcomes for clients.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
  • Be a team player, open to collaboration, strategizing, and supporting fellow associates.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
  • Exhibit interpersonal skills of the highest caliber and a strong ability to manage and advance cases.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar association.
  • At least 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, Legal Writing, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload effectively and advance legal cases.

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
  • Proficient in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proven track record of advancing legal cases and providing high-quality client service.
