A well-established law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its insurance defense team in Purchase, NY. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload while working under the guidance of senior partners. Duties:

  • Manage a personal caseload with supervision from partners
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
  • Conduct legal research and write memorandums
  • Represent clients in court, attending hearings and conferences
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Attend inspections and collaborate with expert witnesses
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
  • Assist in trial preparation and attend trials as needed

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of litigation experience in areas such as bodily injury, premises liability, automobile liability, wrongful death, or product defect
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines
  • Admission to the New York State Bar (required)
  • Connecticut Bar admission (preferred but not required)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active New York State Bar membership (required)
  • Connecticut Bar membership (preferred but not mandatory)
