Duties

• Represent tenants in unlawful detainer cases and other landlord/tenant disputes
• Handle case files from initial intake through trial, including case strategy, litigation, and resolution
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents related to housing rights
• Provide legal guidance on housing laws and regulations, ensuring clients' rights are protected
• Collaborate with legal team members on cases focused on homelessness prevention and tenant advocacy

Requirements

• Experience in landlord/tenant law, with a focus on unlawful detainers and housing rights
• Strong understanding of housing laws and regulations, especially within California
• Ability to manage cases independently from start to finish, including trial preparation and courtroom representation

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active California Bar license in good standing
