This role involves providing comprehensive counsel to public school districts and other public agencies throughout California, addressing a wide range of labor and employment issues. The ideal candidate has over five years of experience and a strong interest in advocating for educational institutions and public agencies.

Duties

• Advise public agencies on labor and employment matters, including employee hiring, contract drafting, and compliance.
• Represent clients in cases involving collective bargaining, contract grievances, discrimination, retaliation, and misconduct.
• Handle cases related to employee discipline, layoffs, and dismissals.
• Conduct administrative hearings and provide legal support in litigation as needed.
• Collaborate with clients to develop strategies for complex labor and employment issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing labor and employment law, with a focus on public agency or education law preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar, in good standing.
