Job Overview:
A law firm specializing in criminal defense is seeking a dedicated and passionate Criminal Defense Associate Attorney to join its team. This role will involve representing clients in various criminal matters, conducting legal research, and working closely with a collaborative team of attorneys and staff. Duties:

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare compelling legal arguments in criminal defense cases.
  • Negotiate settlements and collaborate with prosecutors and opposing parties to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys, legal assistants, client intake staff, and billing departments.
  • Draft and file motions, pleadings, and legal correspondence, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, offering clear communication and empathy throughout the legal process.
  • Effectively communicate with opposing counsel, judges, and court officials professionally.
  • Update case files regularly, ensuring accurate and traceable documentation of case status, deadlines, and developments in the firm’s case management system.
  • Handle multiple cases simultaneously, managing smaller matters independently while supporting larger cases as a second chair.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, plea negotiations, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  • Participate in Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs and networking events to further develop legal expertise.

Requirements:
