Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated and capable Associate Attorney to join its growing plaintiffs’ litigation practice in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time, in-person role presents a unique opportunity to manage a caseload from intake through resolution, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of litigation. Duties:

  • Manage a caseload, overseeing cases from intake to conclusion.
  • Communicate with clients, maintaining strong relationships throughout the litigation process.
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and other documents for various stages of litigation.
  • Participate in oral arguments and settlement negotiations.
  • Handle discovery, including depositions, and respond to discovery requests.
  • Assist in trial preparation and participate in trials when needed.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to develop case strategies.
  • Supervise and manage personal case manager(s).

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania (and New Jersey is preferred; willingness to obtain NJ bar admission is required).
  • 0-3 years of legal experience, with a focus on litigation.
  • Strong oral advocacy skills and experience in oral arguments.
  • Excellent research and writing abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently, with a focus on providing high-quality legal services.
  • Strong work ethic, with a passion for learning and professional development.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (New Jersey Bar is a plus or must be obtained promptly).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • High level of professionalism and client service.
  • Capable of working independently and within a team.
  • Knowledge of litigation processes, including discovery and trial preparation.
