Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Design, draft, and provide support for defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans, employee stock ownership plans, employee welfare plans, and executive compensation programs.
  • Handle controversial work related to employee benefits matters.
  • Provide support for merger and acquisition activities involving employee benefits issues.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with staff, attorneys at all levels, and firm clients to achieve successful outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Book of business valued at least $300,000.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in ERISA and employee benefits law.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with staff, attorneys, and clients.
  • Licensed or eligible to attain a license to practice law in Ohio.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Ohio or ability to obtain.

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of ERISA regulations and employee benefits law.
  • Strong drafting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal issues and provide strategic counsel.
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships and manage a significant business book.
