Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Immigration Associate Attorney to play a crucial role in providing legal services and representation to clients navigating the complex field of immigration law. The successful candidate will assist clients with various immigration matters, conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and represent clients in immigration proceedings. This role involves close collaboration with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure the best possible outcomes for individuals seeking immigration-related assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in various immigration matters, including but not limited to visa applications, asylum, deportation defense, family-based immigration, and naturalization.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on immigration laws, regulations, and precedents to support case strategies.
  • Prepare, review, and file legal documents such as petitions, applications, briefs, and affidavits.
  • Represent clients in immigration court before government agencies, including the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
  • Advise clients on legal rights, obligations, and strategies related to their immigration status.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and provide support in complex immigration cases.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management and timely filing of documents.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws, policies, and procedures and communicate changes to clients and colleagues.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring regular communication and updates on case progress.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and provide pro bono services as needed.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar and in good standing in New York.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Prior experience in immigration law, either through internships, clinical work, or previous employment, is preferred.
  • Fluency in Arabic (required); proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar and in good standing in New York.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Effective oral advocacy and presentation abilities.
