Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview
A Law Firm is seeking a qualified Litigation Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience in civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction defect, general insurance defense, and first-party property litigation. Strong legal research, writing skills, and a proven track record of handling matters through all stages of litigation, including motion practice, hearings, and depositions, are essential. Trial experience is highly preferred.

Duties

• Manage cases through all stages of litigation, including pre-trial, trial, and post-trial phases
• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, pleadings, and discovery documents
• Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings
• Provide guidance and support to junior attorneys and staff
• Participate in settlement negotiations and case evaluations
• Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues regarding case progress and strategy

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of civil litigation experience
• Strong knowledge of construction defect, general insurance defense, and first-party property litigation
• Proven ability to handle motion practice, hearings, depositions, and trial proceedings
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active Bar membership in good standing with the Florida Bar (or ability to obtain)

Skills

• Expertise in civil litigation and case management
• Knowledge of construction law and insurance defense
• Trial experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to think critically and solve complex legal problems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools
