Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Denver, Colorado. The candidate will manage a variety of civil litigation matters in a collaborative, professional environment. This role requires handling case strategy, preparing litigation documents, managing discovery processes, and advocating in court proceedings. Responsibilities:

• Handle a variety of civil litigation matters, including commercial disputes, contract breaches, and business torts.
• Set, execute, and manage case strategies in collaboration with partners and other team members.
• Prepare legal pleadings, motions, written discovery requests, subpoenas, and briefs.
• Participate in motions practice, including drafting motions, briefs, and making oral arguments.
• Conduct document discovery, including review, management, and production of documents, with a focus on electronic discovery.
• Take and defend fact, expert, and document depositions.
• Manage expert witnesses, including preparing them for depositions and trial testimony.
• Negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution processes, including mediation and arbitration.
• Represent clients in bench or jury trials and administrative hearings.
• Engage with clients regularly, providing timely and effective communication.
• Maintain a high level of responsiveness to both clients and partners, ensuring accountability for assigned projects.

Requirements:

• 4-7 years of experience in commercial litigation, including federal and state court litigation.
• Familiarity with the Colorado state and federal court systems is required.
• Possession of a license to practice law in Colorado or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity with other states.
• Experience as the primary author of client memoranda, court motions, mediation briefs, and appellate briefings.
• Bench or jury trial experience is highly preferred.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in Colorado or eligibility for reciprocity with Colorado.
