A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Attorney to join its Tampa office. The ideal candidate will have over four years of litigation experience, particularly in pre-trial practice, and be capable of handling matters in both state and federal courts. The role will involve working on cases related to local government legal issues, offering a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to contribute to high-impact cases. Duties:

  • Manage litigation cases, focusing on state and local government law.
  • Conduct pre-trial work, including discovery, mediation, hearings, and dispositive motions.
  • Handle expert depositions, discovery procedures, and mediation sessions.
  • Represent clients in court appearances and hearings at both state and federal levels.
  • Participate in jury trials, as applicable, contributing to trial preparation and strategy.
  • Draft and file legal documents such as motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Engage in comprehensive legal research to support case strategy and client advisement.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on pre-trial practice.
  • Proven experience handling expert depositions, mediation, hearings, and dispositive motions.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Experience working on state or local government cases is preferred.
  • Jury trial experience is highly valued.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage pre-trial litigation effectively, including discovery, depositions, and mediation.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong collaborative skills to work with team members and external clients.
