Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate for its Labor & Employment Group in New York. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in general advice and counseling, including employment agreements, wage and hour issues, leave of absence matters, and policy review, along with experience in employment-related litigation. Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on various employment law matters, including employment agreements, restrictive covenants, wage and hour issues, and leave of absence policies
  • Review and draft policies related to employment law compliance
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including dispute resolution and litigation before administrative agencies and in court
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and clients to develop effective strategies for employment law compliance and litigation matters
  • Stay updated on changes in labor and employment law and provide proactive advice to clients
  • Assist in managing client relationships and provide high-quality service

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on general advice and counseling, as well as employment-related litigation
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, including wage and hour issues, leave of absence policies, and restrictive covenant agreements
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Previous experience in handling employment-related litigation is essential

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Experience with employment-related litigation and general counseling work
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships
  • Proficiency in handling complex legal issues and providing practical legal solutions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
