Job Overview:
A law firm in Western North Carolina is seeking a talented and motivated Real Estate Attorney to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with 1-3 years of experience in real estate transactions to expand their career in a supportive, client-focused environment. The successful candidate will work closely with buyers, sellers, agents, and lenders in both residential and commercial real estate matters. This role offers the chance to be a key part of the real estate practice, while also developing business relationships and enhancing the firm’s overall service offerings.

Location:

  • Asheville, NC

Duties:

  • Assist buyers, sellers, and agents with completing residential and commercial real estate transactions
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, real estate brokers, lenders, and developers to generate new business
  • Handle all phases of real estate transactions, including sales, purchases, exchanges, and refinances
  • Review title work packages and identify potential title issues
  • Provide attorney title opinions and resolve any title-related concerns
  • Work with lenders, buyers, and sellers to facilitate transactions
  • Perform due diligence and provide general real estate legal services to close residential transactions
  • Draft, review, and negotiate mortgage documents, including HUD-1s, Closing Disclosures, contracts, deeds, leases, and purchase and sale agreements
  • Address any client questions or concerns and provide a positive, professional experience throughout the transaction
  • Review disbursement ledgers and sign checks for transaction completion
  • Conduct legal education classes for real estate agents, lenders, and other prospective referral sources

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina, or eligibility to waive into the North Carolina Bar
  • 1-3 years of experience in real estate transactions, including both residential and commercial
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Proven commitment to delivering exceptional client service

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in North Carolina (or eligibility to waive into the North Carolina Bar)

Skills:

  • Real estate law expertise, including knowledge of title work, contracts, deeds, leases, and mortgage documents
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve legal issues
