A law firm seeks a dedicated and dynamic Business Litigation Associate to join its team in Hamilton, NJ. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for handling complex commercial litigation matters. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of litigation cases, including federal and state civil cases, involving topics such as contract disputes, fraud, real estate, securities, and intellectual property. The successful candidate will bring a strong entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.

Duties

  • Represent clients in federal and state civil litigation, handling a variety of matters including contract disputes, fraud, real estate, securities, employment, and intellectual property issues.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents for complex commercial litigation cases.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare for and attend oral motion hearings.
  • Perform legal research and provide strategic advice to clients on litigation matters.
  • Negotiate settlements and engage in effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to manage ongoing cases.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in federal and state civil litigation.
  • Proven experience with drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, taking and defending depositions, and attending motion hearings.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and handle complex legal challenges.
  • Must possess a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work autonomously while contributing as an effective member of a collaborative team.
  • Intellectual curiosity with the ability to think critically and solve problems independently.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and handle urgent tasks with a composed demeanor.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Admission to practice in New York is preferred.
