Job Title: Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm located in Tampa, FL is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to manage complex personal injury cases from inception through verdict. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional trial advocacy, case strategy, and leadership capabilities while overseeing all facets of litigation in both state and federal courts. This position is ideal for an attorney with a strong courtroom presence and a passion for seeking justice on behalf of injured clients.

Duties:

• Initiate legal proceedings on behalf of clients, including drafting and filing lawsuits

• Conduct and respond to all forms of written discovery

• Schedule, prepare for, and attend depositions of fact witnesses

• Retain and manage expert witnesses; oversee all expert depositions

• Appear for court hearings and manage all related pre-trial activities

• Lead settlement discussions and represent clients in mediation

• Develop comprehensive trial strategies and represent clients at trial

• Handle post-trial motions and legal proceedings as needed

• Participate in internal audits, litigation reviews, and trial preparation workshops

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Florida, in good standing

• A minimum of two first-chair jury trials completed

• Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently

• Previous leadership experience guiding litigation support staff

• Strong persuasive writing and oral communication skills

• Proven negotiation capabilities and attention to legal detail

• Excellent analytical reasoning and legal research proficiency

• Confidence and skill in courtroom presentation and client advocacy

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Florida Bar admission required

• Board certification in civil trial law is a plus but not mandatory
