Job Overview
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Discovery Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 7 years of experience in advising and supporting clients and case teams throughout all phases of eDiscovery, from preservation to production. This role will also involve pre-litigation information governance, deposition and witness preparation, and trial support as needed. The Senior Discovery Attorney will collaborate closely with attorneys, technologists, and clients to design and manage case-specific eDiscovery workflows and protocols that focus on risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility. Additionally, the role includes overseeing junior attorneys and service providers to ensure the consistency, accuracy, and quality of deliverables.

Duties

  • Provide advice and support to case teams and clients throughout the full lifecycle of eDiscovery, from preservation through production.
  • Assist with pre-litigation information governance, deposition and witness preparation, and trial preparation when applicable.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, technologists, and clients to craft and manage case-specific workflows and eDiscovery protocols.
  • Ensure risk mitigation, cost control, and defensibility are key objectives in managing the discovery process.
  • Oversee junior attorneys, project attorneys, technologists, and service providers to maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency in deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in eDiscovery and litigation support.
  • Must be licensed and in good standing in the state where the position is based.
  • Strong knowledge of eDiscovery laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven experience in managing complex eDiscovery workflows and providing strategic guidance on eDiscovery matters.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Preferred: eDiscovery-related certifications, such as Relativity Certified Pro or Certified E-Discovery Specialist.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal and technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace for collaboration, messaging, and productivity.
  • Expertise with Relativity is strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality assurance and risk management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
