Job Overview

A growing law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Litigation team in the Charleston area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, with a preference for experience in construction defect, toxic torts, and/or personal injury cases. Duties

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal briefs
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategy and client advice
  • Communicate with clients and opposing parties to negotiate, resolve, or settle claims
  • Manage a diverse caseload from case initiation through resolution
  • Provide timely reporting on case progress and strategy
  • Collaborate with other attorneys during depositions and court appearances
  • Maintain organized case files and documentation

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on construction defect, toxic torts, and/or personal injury preferred
  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina (required)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases efficiently
  • Experience with legal software such as WestLaw, i-Manage, and Juris Suite a plus

Education

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active membership in the South Carolina State Bar

Certifications

  • South Carolina Bar License (required)
