Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration proceedings, including before USCIS, ICE, and EOIR.
  • Prepare and submit immigration applications, petitions, and motions.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and craft detailed legal briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Advocate for clients in interviews, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
  • Provide sound legal advice and guidance on various immigration matters.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to ensure case management and progression.
  • Stay up-to-date on developments in immigration law and policy changes.
  • Effectively manage a caseload while adhering to deadlines and maintaining high-quality work.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • 1-3 years of experience in immigration law (preferred).
  • Proven ability to conduct legal research and produce high-quality written work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients and staff effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Hindi, Bengali, or another language is advantageous.
  • Strong passion for immigration law and advocating for immigrant rights.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission).
