General Liability Defense Associate

Job Overview:
A well-established, full-service commercial law firm is seeking a General Liability Defense Associate Attorney with 1-6 years of experience to join their Orlando office. This role offers the opportunity to handle various defense matters including auto & truck accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, negligent security, and other general commercial litigation cases. The position provides an excellent opportunity for professional growth, trial experience, and involvement in complex litigation work across Florida.

Location:

• Orlando, FL

Duties:

• Manage own caseload and deadlines
• Collaborate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses
• Perform legal analysis on new and existing claims, and develop case strategies
• Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery documents
• Take depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations
• Conduct site inspections, accident scene investigations, and expert evaluations
• Assist with accident reconstruction and emergency accident response investigations
• Negotiate settlements
• Provide assistance in all aspects of trial and post-trial requirements

Requirements:

• 1-6 years of experience in General Liability Defense or related fields
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong skills in writing, research, and legal analysis
• Demonstrated negotiation abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with clients and colleagues
• Must be in good standing with the Florida Bar

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Florida Bar License (required)

Skills:

• Strong legal research and writing capabilities
• Effective negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and expert witnesses
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus (not required)
• Trial experience is a plus (but not required)
