Job Overview:

A law firm in Boston, MA, is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Finance Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 1 year of experience in commercial finance and demonstrate a strong understanding of representing traditional and non-traditional lenders and borrowers. This role requires exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills and a solid academic background. The candidate must be admitted to or willing to be admitted to the Massachusetts Bar.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent traditional and non-traditional lenders and borrowers in various commercial finance transactions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, acquisition facilities, working capital arrangements, letters of credit facilities, and other types of financing documentation.
  • Provide legal counsel on financing transactions, including structuring, documenting, and closing deals.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence and legal research to support transactional work.
  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to ensure successful transaction outcomes.
  • Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and commercial finance industry trends.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies for complex transactions and financing arrangements.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of meaningful experience in commercial finance law.
  • Demonstrated experience in representing lenders and borrowers in various financing transactions.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar or willingness to be admitted.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar or willingness to become admitted.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex financial agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with relevant commercial finance laws and regulations.
