A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join its dynamic team remotely. This position offers the opportunity to handle a wide range of civil litigation cases, with a focus on bodily injury and first-party/bad faith defense. The ideal candidate will have between 3 to 10 years of experience in insurance defense, with strong abilities in both trial preparation and case management. Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters, focusing on bodily injury and first-party/bad faith defense.
  • Take the lead in preparing civil litigation cases for trial, including depositions, motions, oral arguments, and hearings.
  • Negotiate settlements and maintain consistent communication with clients throughout case progress.
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure the successful resolution of cases.
  • Adhere to deadlines and ensure compliance with all relevant legal and procedural requirements.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense, with a strong emphasis on bodily injury and first-party/bad faith defense.
  • Proven ability to handle civil litigation cases through all phases, from pre-trial to settlement or trial.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Arizona Bar license (Required).
  • Additional licensure in other states is a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in insurance defense litigation, including understanding bodily injury and first-party/bad faith matters.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and case management skills.
  • Proficiency in trial preparation, including depositions and negotiations.
