Litigation Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess strong oral and written communication skills, be a self-starter, and have the ability to multitask effectively. The role requires hands-on experience managing cases from inception through resolution, with a focus on general liability, construction, and product liability. The candidate must be admitted to practice in Illinois and able to work productively in a team-oriented, hybrid work environment.

Duties:

• Manage case files from inception through resolution, including developing case strategies.
• Draft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and participate in court hearings.
• Collaborate with team members in a hybrid work environment to achieve case objectives.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
• Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed about case progress and developments.
• Draft and review legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and settlement discussions.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on general liability, construction, and product liability matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois State Bar (active and in good standing).
• 3-5 years of litigation experience, with defense experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to multitask and manage multiple case files simultaneously.
• Experience or strong interest in general liability, construction, and product liability law.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, hybrid work environment.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar (required).
