Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a dedicated Associate Attorney to join its dynamic legal team in Birmingham, Michigan. This position focuses on providing defense representation for a variety of clients, including manufacturers, retailers, insurance companies, contractors, and self-insured businesses. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense litigation and be eager to contribute to a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to handle complex legal matters and work alongside seasoned legal professionals.

Duties:

  • Draft and respond to written discovery requests

  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft motions

  • Represent clients in court hearings and depositions

  • Develop case strategies and provide legal counsel

  • Participate in settlement negotiations and dispute resolution

  • Manage case files and maintain accurate documentation

  • Work collaboratively with other attorneys and legal support staff

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation

  • Proficiency in handling No-Fault first-party PIP claims, automotive negligence, and bodily injury cases

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Availability for a full-time position with a hybrid remote work option

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active member of the Michigan Bar Association

Skills:
