A law firm seeks a skilled Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team in Redwood City, California. Duties

• Represent clients in pretrial hearings and provide counsel on case strategy post-hearing.
• Handle court appearances, trials, and motions, including interviewing witnesses and conducting legal research.
• Assess the potential outcomes of cases using legal knowledge and precedents.
• Maintain and manage a caseload efficiently while delivering timely legal services.
• Advise clients on the merits of their case and any potential benefits or risks.
• Gather additional evidence and work to refute charges brought by the prosecution.
• Prepare clients for depositions, gathering pertinent information from witnesses and experts.

Requirements

• Proven experience handling complex criminal defense cases, including federal, state, and local matters.
• A collaborative mindset with a willingness to work closely with colleagues to strategize and support clients.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with clients, witnesses, and the legal team.
• Fluency in English is required; bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred, but not mandatory.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in California.
