Job Overview: An established law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Of Counsel attorney for its San Francisco office. This role involves defending employers in complex litigation and providing legal counsel on a range of labor and employment matters. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing litigation cases, offering strategic legal advice, and representing clients in courts and before administrative agencies. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned attorney with a strong background in employment law and litigation who is looking to contribute to a dynamic legal team.

Duties:

  • Defend employers in lawsuits involving employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, wage-and-hour, and non-compete cases
  • Provide legal advice, counsel, and training on employment and labor law matters
  • Represent clients in court, arbitration, administrative hearings, and mediations
  • Handle class/collective actions and PAGA cases (preferred but not required)
  • Lead litigation cases from inception to resolution, serving as first-chair counsel
  • Collaborate with associates and paralegals, delegating tasks and providing mentorship and feedback

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
  • At least 9 years of employment litigation experience, including substantial first-chair trial experience
  • Active member of the California Bar in good standing
  • Supervisory experience managing legal teams and delegating work effectively
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment law and agency procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active California State Bar membership

Skills:

  • Advanced litigation skills, including trial and case management
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and case analysis
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
