Job Description:

Duties:

  • Draft basic and sophisticated estate planning documents incorporating estate and income tax planning.
  • Create irrevocable trusts and other advanced estate planning instruments.
  • Administer probate estates, including preparing and submitting required filings with the Commissioner of Accounts.
  • Lead in-person client meetings, demonstrating strong client relationship skills.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on estate planning and administration matters.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure seamless client service.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations in estate planning and administration.

Requirements:

  • 7 years of experience in estate planning and estate/trust administration.
  • Proven ability to draft complex estate planning documents and irrevocable trusts.
  • Experience in administering probate estates and handling required filings.
  • Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Demonstrated client relationship skills with the ability to lead client meetings.
  • 8-12 years of experience is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
