Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Litigation Attorney for its Life Sciences team in Pine Brook, NJ. The role involves managing complex litigation matters in the healthcare and life sciences sectors, including drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and representing clients in various legal proceedings. Location:

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery requests.
  • Communicate extensively with clients regarding factual investigations, litigation strategies, and case updates.
  • Prepare objections and responses to written discovery requests.
  • Analyze and index document productions.
  • Manage scheduling orders, protective orders, and e-discovery orders.
  • Prepare deposition outlines and exhibits, and conduct or defend depositions.
  • Develop trial and hearing materials, including witness outlines and exhibits.
  • Argue motions and appear in court or arbitration for scheduling and status conferences.
  • Draft mediation statements and participate in mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Work with state-based boards and administrative agencies.
  • Assist as second chair during trials and final hearings in arbitration.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of litigation experience (healthcare or life sciences experience preferred).
  • Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • Experience in most or all of the outlined responsibilities.
  • Exceptional writing, oral communication, and legal research skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Preferred minimum law school GPA of 3.0.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
