Litigation Attorney

A law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Litigation Attorney to join their team in Walnut Creek, CA. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant litigation experience and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The role involves preparing pleadings, motions, and discovery, as well as handling depositions and settlement agreements. Experience with community association law and mediation is a plus. California Bar membership in good standing is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation cases.
• Drafting: Prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, including written and expert discovery.
• Discovery: Handle both written and expert discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
• Mediation and Dispute Resolution: Participate in mediation and other dispute resolution processes.
• Settlement Agreements: Draft and negotiate settlement agreements.
• Trial Preparation: Assist in trial preparation and represent clients in court when necessary.
• Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other legal professionals.
• Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all aspects of legal work.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1-3 years of relevant litigation experience.
• Bar Membership: Must be a member in good standing of the California Bar.
