Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated and experienced Associate Attorney to join their Trusts and Estates practice in Rockville, MD. This position involves handling a variety of legal matters for clients, including estate planning, trust administration, and real estate and business transactions.

Duties:

  • Assist clients with comprehensive estate planning, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  • Manage estate and trust administration processes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and client objectives.
  • Provide counsel on real estate and business transactions, including LLC, corporate, and partnership formation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop estate tax minimization strategies for clients.
  • Prepare necessary legal documentation and filings for estate and business matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to meet their legal needs and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Stay up to date with changes in estate and business law to provide accurate legal advice.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in estate planning, trust administration, and/or estate administration.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while providing exceptional client service.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland (required).
  • Bar admissions in Washington, D.C., and Virginia (preferred).
  • LLM in Taxation or Estate Planning (preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in estate planning and administration, including drafting legal documents.
  • Proficiency in business transactions, including entity formation.
  • Ability to provide legal advice on complex issues while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Familiarity with real estate and business structures.
