The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in defending insurance companies in first-party insurance cases, offering comprehensive legal support from claim investigations to trials.

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, responses to discovery, motions, and supporting memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research to ensure comprehensive case understanding.
  • Manage document productions and interact with clients daily.
  • Defend first-party insurance cases, predominantly representing insurance companies.
  • Analyze coverage during claim investigations and draft coverage evaluations and recommendations.
  • Draft proposed provisions or revisions to insurance policies.
  • Negotiate settlements informally at mediations and settlement conferences.
  • Prepare for trial throughout the case, from inception to completion.
  • Draft appellate motions and briefs.

Requirements:

  • Member of Georgia Bar or eligible for Georgia Bar membership.
  • Admission to federal district courts in Georgia is required.
  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • 5-8 years of relevant workplace experience, including expertise in first-party and bad-faith coverage matters.
