Duties

  • Prepare and draft legal documents for filing, including pleadings, motions, judgments, and orders.
  • Handle all aspects of assigned family law cases from start to finish, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Correspond with clients, attorneys, and court personnel regarding ongoing cases.
  • Interview and prepare witnesses for trial, ensuring thorough preparation for testimony.
  • Represent clients in court by making appearances and presenting cases.
  • Conduct legal research on specific family law issues and ensure up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws.
  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, organizing legal files, and handling correspondence.
  • Participate in case strategy development alongside other legal professionals.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Kansas bar license required.
  • A minimum of five years of litigation experience, with preference for candidates experienced in family law.
  • Proven ability to handle complex family law matters and represent clients effectively in court.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
