Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney to join its team in Miami, FL. The successful candidate will have the chance to manage a caseload, represent clients in immigration proceedings, and collaborate with a skilled team of attorneys and legal assistants.

Location:

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and provide strategic solutions to clients
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
• Manage caseload and ensure timely progression of cases
• Conduct intake sessions with detained individuals at immigration detention centers
• Prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
• Review and adjust immigration applications/packets to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law
• Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and determine the best approach for each case
• Develop case strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
• Provide legal analysis to clients, advising them of potential case benefits
• Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration-related cases

Qualifications:

• 1 to 4 years of experience in Immigration Law
• Proven track record of advancing legal cases and managing caseloads
• A team player who is open to collaboration, strategizing, and assisting colleagues
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong client relationships
• Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Legal Writing, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
• Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction

Skills:

• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively
• Expertise in immigration law, especially EOIR and USCIS matters
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
