Job Overview:

Location:

  • Fort Lauderdale, FL

Duties:

  • Handle insurance defense litigation matters across various practice areas, including general liability, bodily injury, nursing home/ALF, first-party property, construction defect, and trucking/maintenance of traffic.
  • Explore early resolution strategies and alternative dispute resolution methods to complement traditional litigation.
  • Work collaboratively with dedicated teams specializing in surgeries, motions for summary judgment (MSJs), client reporting, appellate work, and more.
  • Take part in weekly training, mentoring, and roundtable discussions to develop legal skills and strategies.
  • Work alongside Trial Teams and help prepare for board certification.
  • Assist with client development and marketing to grow a professional profile.
  • Handle time limit demands, Daubert motions, and pre-bill reviews.
  • Efficiently manage a caseload while ensuring timely communication with clients and accurate documentation of case progress.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience handling insurance defense matters.
  • Willingness to explore early resolution strategies and non-traditional litigation methods.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and self-motivation skills.
  • Ability to respond promptly to client inquiries and provide regular case updates.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage caseloads effectively.
  • Strong technical confidence and familiarity with case management systems.
  • Knowledge of AIM/Perfect Law is a plus.
  • Membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance defense law, including general liability, bodily injury, and related practice areas.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement creative legal strategies for clients.
  • Strong communication skills to maintain client relationships and report case progress.
  • Comfortable using technology and case management systems to streamline workflows.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
