The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applicant-side workers' compensation law, with the ability to manage a high caseload effectively while providing excellent legal counsel. Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload, representing clients in workers' compensation claims and appeals.
  • Collaborate with case managers and legal assistants to manage case flow efficiently.
  • Negotiate settlements and advocate for fair compensation for clients.
  • Prepare and present cases at the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
  • Maintained highly organized case files and managed deadlines effectively.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties to ensure successful case progression.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation law, specifically applicant-side representation.
  • Strong familiarity with the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board processes and procedures.
  • Ability to handle a large volume of cases with attention to detail.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and advocacy skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to settle cases at a favorable value for clients.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active California Bar License.

Skills:

  • Expertise in workers' compensation law and case management.
  • Proficient in legal research, writing, and documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
