A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in construction law and litigation to join its team in Salt Lake City, UT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both transactional and litigation matters within the construction industry. This position requires a detail-oriented and motivated individual who can handle complex cases with minimal supervision. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in civil engineering, architecture, or construction management.

Duties:

  • Manage construction law cases, including transactional work and litigation, from inception to resolution.
  • Represent clients in a variety of construction-related matters, including disputes, contracts, and regulatory issues.
  • Draft and negotiate construction contracts, including those related to projects, materials, and contractors.
  • Advise clients on legal and compliance matters in the construction industry.
  • Prepare and file motions, pleadings, and other legal documents for litigation purposes.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients on construction-related matters, including risk management and contract negotiations.
  • Work independently while collaborating with other attorneys and clients to develop strategies and achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction law, including both transactional and litigation work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse caseload and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Knowledge of construction industry standards and practices, with a focus on legal compliance.
  • Proven ability to handle client relationships and provide high-quality legal counsel.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining a collaborative team approach.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Utah or be willing to join the Utah Bar. Candidates licensed in other states may also be considered.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Utah Bar or willingness to obtain Utah Bar membership (if licensed in another state).
