A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a Registered Funds Associate Attorney to join their Investment Management group within the Investment Funds and Private Capital practice. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in registered funds, including mutual funds, closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), business development companies (BDCs), and other semi-liquid product structures. Exceptional academic credentials and prior law firm experience are required for this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support to clients in the Investment Management group.
  • Handle matters related to registered funds, including mutual funds, closed-end funds, ETFs, and BDCs.
  • Assist with the formation, structuring, and registration of investment funds.
  • Draft and review offering documents, regulatory filings, and agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on securities laws and regulations.
  • Assist with compliance matters and regulatory inquiries.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and team members on complex legal issues.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide high-quality client service.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction of hire.
  • 4-8 years of experience in registered funds and investment management.
  • Strong understanding of securities laws and regulations.
  • Excellent academic credentials and prior law firm experience.

 

Skills:

  • Strong registered funds experience, including mutual funds, closed-end funds, ETFs, and BDCs.
  • Excellent drafting and legal writing skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

 

Certifications:

Admission to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction of hire.

 

Education:

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
