A law firm seeks a highly motivated Real Estate Closing Attorney to join its well-established team in Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will have experience in overseeing residential and commercial real estate transactions, although the firm is open to training candidates with the right drive and commitment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while managing significant real estate closings and enhancing client relationships.

Duties:

  • Manage residential and commercial real estate transactions, including sales, refinances, and lease agreements.
  • Review title documents to ensure clear ownership and resolve any potential issues before closing.
  • Coordinate with lenders, brokers, agents, buyers, and sellers to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Draft and review important real estate documents, including contracts, deeds, leases, and purchase/sale agreements.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing clients' questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Review disbursement ledgers and authorize checks to ensure accurate payments and allocations.
  • Foster and expand business relationships for the firm, promoting growth and new opportunities.
  • Conduct informational training for clients regarding relevant aspects of real estate law.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in residential real estate transactions is preferred; however, the firm is willing to train the right candidate.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the South Carolina State Bar.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to community involvement and achieving firm goals.
  • A growth-focused mindset, particularly with an emphasis on residential real estate.
  • A demonstrated strong work ethic, with an excellent academic and professional background.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the South Carolina State Bar (or eligible for admission).

  • In-depth knowledge of residential and commercial real estate transactions.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing real estate documents accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple transactions concurrently.
