Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Laurel, MD office. This role involves managing a high-volume caseload in foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, and REO matters. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, the ability to manage complex cases independently, and the desire to grow within the firm. Duties

  • Manage and prioritize a large caseload involving foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, and mortgage banking.
  • Draft and review pleadings to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Attend hearings, status conferences, and other legal proceedings.
  • Interact with clients, opposing counsel, and team members to develop case strategies.
  • Provide creative solutions to complex legal issues to mitigate client risk.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and active membership in good standing with the Bar in DC and/or Maryland.
  • Admission to the Superior Court and the US District Court for DC is preferred.
  • Experience in title, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and mortgage banking is advantageous.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland and/or the District of Columbia.

Skills

  • Proficient in legal drafting and review, with a focus on regulatory compliance.
  • Strong organizational and case management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for client and team interaction.
