Family Law Associate Attorney

A law firm in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a seasoned Family Law Associate Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in representing clients in Maryland on a wide range of family law matters, including separation, divorce, custody disputes, spousal and child support, and marital property issues. The role involves managing a busy family law caseload, preparing and drafting legal documents, and representing clients in mediations, hearings, and trials. Preference will be given to candidates with first-chair trial experience and the ability to travel across various counties in Maryland.

Duties:

• Represent clients in a variety of family law matters, including separation, divorce, custody disputes, spousal and child support, and marital property issues.
• Manage a busy caseload of family law cases from inception to resolution.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including discovery, motions, briefs, and other necessary filings.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Attend and represent clients in mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Handle a high volume of cases while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Develop and implement effective case strategies in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.
• Travel to various counties, including Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, and Montgomery Counties, as needed for client meetings, court appearances, and other case-related activities.
• Provide exceptional client service and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience practicing family law, with a proven track record in managing complex family law cases.
• Strong background in representing clients in Maryland on a wide range of family law issues.
• Licensed to practice law in Maryland.
• Ability to handle a high volume of cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Preference for candidates with first-chair trial experience.

Education:

• JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Maryland.
