Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a skilled eDiscovery Attorney to join its eDiscovery and Information Management group. The role will primarily focus on managing eDiscovery work for complex litigation matters. The position requires proficiency in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM), and an eagerness to gain experience in various aspects of eDiscovery. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. This is a non-partnership track position, and candidates must be admitted to the bar in the state where they will be practicing.

Location:

  • Chicago, IL

Duties:

  • Manage eDiscovery work for complex litigation matters.
  • Supervise and coordinate project execution to ensure timelines, budgets, and standards are met.
  • Draft and negotiate discovery-related protocols, orders, and agreements.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the case team and clients regarding eDiscovery project execution, implementation, and status.
  • Coordinate with case teams, clients, and vendors on data identification and collection.
  • Create accurate budgets/estimates for review projects and manage monthly revenue forecasting and invoice review.
  • Create and manage document review workflows, including quality control (QC) processes.
  • Oversee the preparation of document productions.
  • Provide guidance and training to review attorneys to improve work product and performance.
  • Foster a positive team environment within the eDiscovery group.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in eDiscovery (in-house, law firm, government, etc.).
  • Admission to practice in the jurisdiction where the candidate is applying.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple eDiscovery projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and business judgment.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or LL.M. from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in the jurisdiction where applying.
