Senior Immigration Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney with extensive experience in immigration law to provide strategic legal counsel and representation for a diverse range of immigration matters. The ideal candidate will be a skilled advocate with a proven track record of managing complex immigration cases and demonstrating exceptional client service.

Duties:

• Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
• Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a diverse caseload, including preparing and submitting immigration applications and petitions.
• Conduct intake meetings with detained individuals at immigration detention centers.
• Prepare and review various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
• Present to and collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law and policy.
• Conduct strategic consultations with potential clients to determine the appropriate legal strategy and approach.
• Develop and implement case strategies, preparing clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS testimony.
• Provide thorough legal analysis to identify potential case benefits and advise clients accordingly.
• Draft and submit legal briefs for a wide range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 5-8 years of experience in Immigration Law.
• Proven ability to manage a caseload effectively and move legal cases forward.
• Experience with family-based petitions, humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, detained cases, citizenship applications, and other USCIS applications.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Proficiency with case management software is preferred.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Strong record of successful case management and client advocacy.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the State Bar where practicing.
