A law firm in Austin, TX, is seeking a seasoned Senior Associate Attorney with extensive experience in family law. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience in handling complex family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and domestic violence cases. This role involves leading significant cases, providing expert legal counsel, and mentoring junior attorneys while enjoying a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct consultations with potential clients to evaluate their legal needs and secure their representation.
  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, domestic violence, and asset division.
  • Represent clients as the lead attorney (1st chair) in court proceedings, including mediation, depositions, and trials.
  • Develop and execute effective case strategies in alignment with clients' objectives and legal requirements.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, agreements, and court orders with precision and clarity.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage disputes in both contested and uncontested family law cases.
  • Mentor and train junior attorneys and support staff, enhancing their skills and professional development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law statutes and regulations to ensure accurate and effective representation.
  • Build and sustain strong client relationships through consistent communication and a compassionate approach.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • 4+ years of experience in family law, with a proven track record in divorce, child custody, domestic violence, and related areas.
  • Expertise in Colorado Family Law statutes (preferred).

Skills:

  • Proven leadership skills, with experience managing cases as the 1st chair in court proceedings and negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding in client interactions.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical abilities.
