Job Title: Litigation Special Counsel

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking to hire experienced attorneys with 2-5 years of litigation experience for a Special Counsel position within its Litigation Department. This full-time, non-partner track role is focused on supporting the firm’s Construction Practice Group. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing high-volume cases independently and possess a strong background in litigation, including arbitration. The position offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals while providing exposure to complex legal matters related to construction and insurance disputes.

Duties:

• Independently handle a range of litigation matters, with an emphasis on construction and insurance-related cases.
• Manage arbitration proceedings, with occasional exposure to circuit court cases.
• Draft and argue motions, and engage in legal research and writing.
• Conduct depositions and provide trial support, including pre-trial preparation.
• Participate in mediation and arbitration sessions.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff, including paralegals, to manage cash flow and deadlines.
• Demonstrate a track record of successfully settling cases in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of litigation experience, preferably in construction and insurance law.
• Familiarity with arbitration processes and experience in litigating construction-related disputes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in leading or working alongside paralegal and support staff is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Certifications:

• Must hold an active license to practice law in Florida.
