Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a motivated and dependable Junior Associate Attorney to support the firm’s legal team in managing a variety of complex civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will work directly with senior attorneys and paralegals, gaining hands-on experience in the day-to-day management of legal cases.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely progress from inception through resolution
  • Develop legal strategies, including preparing motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Handle depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other litigation-related tasks
  • Draft and review discovery, demands, and responses
  • Assist in the negotiation and settlement of cases
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients and colleagues regarding case developments
  • Take ownership of files, ensuring no details are overlooked in advancing them toward trial or settlement

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the State Bar (PA required; NJ preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation
  • Strong research skills, with the ability to locate and apply relevant legal precedents
  • Proficient in drafting legal briefs, motions, and other formal documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective negotiation and mediation abilities
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to managing cases independently while ensuring quality

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Valid Bar License in Pennsylvania (NJ Bar license preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing capabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective negotiation and mediation techniques
