A law firm in San Diego is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney with 3-8 years of substantive employment law experience. The role focuses on independently managing all aspects of employment litigation matters for private sector corporate clients in California. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional legal writing and communication skills, strong research capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage employment litigation matters for corporate clients in California.
  • Proactively communicate with firm's Non-Food & Consumer Products (NFC) team and clients throughout the litigation process.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery, including E-discovery.
  • Prepare and respond to motions, attend depositions, hearings, motions, mediations, and trials.
  • Assist in counseling clients on various employment law issues.
  • Supervise junior attorneys as needed.

Requirements:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.
  • 3-8 years of substantive experience in employment law litigation.
  • Experience in supervising junior attorneys is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional legal writing skills.
  • Excellent research skills and ability to identify and resolve legal issues efficiently.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and matters simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to manage complex litigation independently.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases.
