Duties

  • Provide legal counsel to high-net-worth individuals and multinational families on international estate planning and cross-border tax matters.
  • Advise U.S. and non-U.S. taxpayers on wealth management structures that address multi-jurisdictional tax and legal considerations.
  • Assist with foreign trusts, pre-immigration and expatriation planning, and compliance with tax and reporting obligations related to overseas accounts, corporations, and trusts.
  • Guide clients on the purchase of U.S. property by non-U.S. persons.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic estate planning strategies.
  • Draft and review complex estate planning documents, including trusts, wills, and tax filings.
  • Develop creative solutions to complex client needs while maintaining high standards of service.
  • Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on all aspects of international estate planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in international estate planning and cross-border tax matters.
  • Strong technical expertise in tax, trusts, and estate planning for high-net-worth clients.
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to managing client matters.
  • Member in good standing in the jurisdiction where the position is based (required).

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in the jurisdiction where the position is based.

  • Expertise in international estate planning, cross-border taxation, and wealth management strategies.
  • Strong legal writing skills for drafting complex documents, including trusts and tax filings.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to clients and colleagues.
