A law firm seeks a motivated Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing legal team in East Brunswick, NJ. This full-time, in-person position is ideal for an attorney with at least two years of experience handling personal injury, medical malpractice, and/or employment litigation, preferably from the plaintiff's side. The role involves managing a range of litigation tasks, including depositions, legal research, motion practice, and trial preparation. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a collaborative team to advocate on behalf of clients.

Duties

  • Handle all phases of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, preparing and responding to discovery requests, and drafting pleadings.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft motions, briefs, and opposition to motions.
  • Argue motions in court and represent clients at arbitration hearings.
  • Assist in trial preparation, working closely with senior attorneys.
  • Manage a caseload and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and advocate effectively for clients.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and proactive case management.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation, specifically in personal injury, medical malpractice, and/or employment law (plaintiff's side experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of New Jersey court rules, procedures, and E-courts.
  • Proven experience in legal research, brief writing, and preparing various legal documents.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey State Bar (Required).
