Job Overview: A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking a skilled Financial Services Associate Attorney with at least 4+ years of substantive corporate finance transactions experience. Ideal candidates will possess in-depth expertise in financial services, particularly in corporate transactional and regulatory work, focusing on emerging industries such as tokens, digital & technology, blockchain, and cryptocurrency.

Job Duties:

  • Handle complex corporate finance transactions focusing on venture financings, blockchain and digital assets, payments, lending, fund formation, and alternative lending.
  • Provide regulatory enforcement guidance and counsel clients on compliance matters related to financial services.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide legal opinions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Develop creative solutions to legal issues, demonstrating effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Work independently and proactively while collaborating with team members to meet client needs.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in corporate finance transactions, focusing on financial services.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance issues affecting financial services, particularly in emerging technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional legal research and analytical abilities.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in handling complex corporate finance transactions.
  • Ability to analyze regulatory issues and provide strategic advice to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Capability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
